Following their win at the Plantation Rum Cup final during Sydney Bar Week in September 2022 the team from Teresa Cocktail Bar from Napier, New Zealand are preparing for a trip of a lifetime. During the final Andrea Marseglia, Josh Loman and Sara Mazzucco crafted their cocktail ‘The Boccioni’s Punch’ for industry guests and judges whilst showcasing their bartending skills, enthusiasm and flair for service.
At the end of March, the winning team will be travelling to the undisputed birthplace of Rum in Barbados and treated to a week of leisure and activity at Plantation’s own mythical West Indies Rum Distillery. Here, Andrea, Josh and Sara will be immersed in the history of Rum through the ages in combination with innovation of Maison Ferrand and master distiller Alexandre Gabriel.

The trio from Teresa Cocktail Bar will be accompanied by Proof & Company’s New Zealand Commercial Manager Dan King and global Maison Ferrand team members are excited to welcome the guests to the West Indies Rum Distillery.
The winning team is equally excited for the trip and depart with the hope of bringing home some of the rare and exclusive Plantation liquids including Plantation Cut & Dry Rum with Andrea Marseglia enthusing “working in the drink industry, we feel very honoured to have this great opportunity to visit Barbados, the birthplace of Rum. The West Indies Rum Distillery, where some of the Plantation Rum rums are distilled, is on our bucket list, and it will give us the chance to taste a great variety of authentic rums also based on their different stills”.
