Bringing a slice of Korean drinking culture to Sydney, Tokki has been transformed into a modern Korean Anju bar, one where traditional snacks are consumed with liquor. The new Tokki has an intimate and fun vibe that will make guests feel like they are on a night out in a typical trendy, multicultural Itaewon in Seoul with a unique range of imported Korean drinks to be enjoyed with the best Korean soundtracks.

There is a range of rice wines and cocktails available using traditional Korean ingredients such as the famous Jeju Island mandarins, the Korean pear and Yuja. Tokki’s Executive Chef, Jacob Lee says “I want to create a space where guests can be transported to a night out in Seoul at a funky, snack-style Anju and be introduced to boutique Soju, Makgeolli and other types of rice wines, some of which Australia have never been available in Australia before”.

The menu will focus on famous Anju with modern twists with dishes including Mul Hwe (Korean sashimi), a Seafood Pancake, Briquette Bulgogi and Jiajang Pork Ribs. Lee is also planning to hold a Makgeolli night every month after partnering with a brewer in Seoul who will supply craft Makgoli without preservatives especially for Tokki. As the drink only has a shelf life of 30 days, it’s an extremely rare find in Australia. “I’m excited for people to get a chance to try the genuine flavour of Makgeolli as I know they will absolutely love it,” says Lee.
