On Monday 5th September during Sydney Bar Week hospitality from across the country will gather at Grain to see the finalist teams compete. All are welcome to attend though RSVP is essential – please register your attendance via EVENTBRITE today.
It’s been two years and we could all kick back with a good party to celebrate one another and this great industry. You can expect some familiar activations with a few surprises to fill your night from Monkey Shoulder, Hendrick’s Gin, Sailor Jerry, Glenfiddich, The Balvenie, and De Kuyper.
Do you fancy yourself a fountain of knowledge/random pieces of information? Get a team of three together to represent your venue, and compete in HOSPO FAM-ily Feud for the chance to WIN a trip for three to the newly-renovated Four Pillars Distillery in Healesville.
The results are in: these are the finalists for the 21st annual Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards. With an increase in votes of about 50 per cent this year, we know you guys are pumped to get involved, be involved and to find out who made the list.

The Top 20 — including the number 1 Most Influential — will be announced at the exclusive Most Influential List Party during Sydney Bar Week on September 5th at Hickson House Distilling Co in The Rocks.
This one is from Jacob Goss, the operator of The Rum Diary bars in both Melbourne and Newcastle. He’s been hosting these events for a while now, and we’re lucky that he is bringing it to Sydney for Sydney Bar Week thanks to Bacardi and De Kuyper and our good friends at The Lobo.
The time has come to throw your shaker in the ring (or nominate your favourite bartender) to compete at this year’s Bartender of the Year competition! It’s happening during Sydney Bar Week (3-7 September). Simply email amy@spantonmedia.com with the name, email address & mobile number of the person competing.
Topics for this year will cover the long-term effects on the hospitality industry post pandemic, staffing and recruitment, growing a business and some TED talk style sessions. Leading operators from Jason Williams, Natalie Ng, Hayden Lambert and Sven Almenning (among many others) will be on hand.
The Plantation Rum Cup is the bar team competition of 2022 and open to EVERYONE in the hospitality industry – from bartenders to the chefs, bar backs and hosts – any Bar Team excelling in creating memorable experiences.
