Whisky brand gatecrashes breweries as a third of beer drinkers admit they actually prefer cocktails
To celebrate World Cocktail Day, Monkey Shoulder will be gatecrashing breweries from Sydney to Wollongong in the iconic Monkey Mixer, rallying Aussies to swap their beers and mix it up with Monkey Shoulder cocktails instead.
Australia’s Largest Cocktail Mixer Truck will be touring brewery hotspots between 11th – 13th May with complimentary Monkey Shoulder Cocktails up for grabs for beer lovers with a hankering for a different type of bevvie.
This follows research from Monkey Shoulder uncovering that three in ten (30%) beer drinkers actually prefer cocktails over beer. For beer buffs who like to switch things up on a night out, 7:52pm is the average time pints are put aside, with punters opting for some drink diversity to elevate the evening.

The world-famous premium whisky brand will be challenging punters to exchange their beer for a Monkey Shoulder Cocktail as the 2,400-gallon party on wheels swirls around a signature cocktail on tap on its brewery tour which kicks off at Wayward Brewing Co in Camperdown.
The giant mixer truck will then pay a visit to Sauce Brewing Co in Marrickville before making its way to Sydney’s South at Sunday Road Brewing, Illawarra Brewing in North Wollongong and ending up at its Penultimate location, the North Wollongong Hotel.
Monkey Shoulder Brand Ambassador, Lucille Rose-Hopkins, said: “It’s not every day you get a supersized cocktail mixer in your brewery, so this World Cocktail Day we’re encouraging punters to mix things up and make it Monkey instead. What better time to branch out and experience something different to your go-to brew. Hop to it – you’ll be pleasantly surprised!”
Former Bachelorette star and Monkey Shoulder enthusiast, Konrad Bien-Stephens, is encouraging beer lovers to experiment with something unexpected this World Cocktail Day: “I love a good brew but it’s World Cocktail Day after all, so don’t just stick to what you know. Hotfoot it to the Monkey Mixer and experience a taste sensation!”
