A hidden wine bar is set to open 3 July in the Northern Rivers village of Burringbar. Tucked behind daytime cafe Pour Good, the new venue will run with secret codes, concealed entry points and a refined drinks list that leans into natural and local producers.
The project is led by Bron Harrison, owner of the established Natural Wine Shop, which will now extend its footprint with an after-dark concept bar. The format will shift across the day, café in the morning, wine shop midday, then transforming into a bar from 3pm onwards from Thursday’s to Sunday’s.
Alongside wine, the cocktail menu brings heat – literally, with a handful of drinks using fire elements. Expect clean drinks, low lights, vinyl playlists and occasional pop-up chef takeovers for seasonal snack pairings.
DIY bottle nights will run Thursdays and Sundays, where guests can choose any wine from the shop to open in the bar for a small corkage, matched with bar snacks.
“We wanted to create something truly special and accessible – a destination that gives people a reason to explore beyond the usual spots,” says Harrison. “The secret entry concept adds theatre to the experience, while our ethos of ‘drink better, drink less’ guides everything we do. We believe that small amounts of quality alcohol can forge genuine connections.”
