Bazaar & Bar brings Indian wine bar dining to Brookvale

Smoked Jaggery Old Fashioned

A new Indian wine bar and restaurant, Bazaar & Bar, has opened in the heart of Brookvale, bringing a produce-forward take on regional Indian flavours to Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

The new venue comes from Kabir Arora (Salt Meats Cheese, Seagrass Hospitality, Sketch Manly) and chef Adwait Jagtap (ex-Kolkata Social, Raja). Together, the duo blend both classic flavours, and modern dining in a refined setting.

The bar features a curated list of Australian wines alongside a few selected international bottles. The five-cocktail list includes Indian-flavoured creations such as the curry leaf gimlet, smoked jaggery old fashioned, and the garam masala negroni with house-spiced vermouth – all designed to match and pair with the spice-forward dishes.

The food menu features small and large share plates, all built around regional Indian dishes, reimagined with Australian produce. Signature dishes include Champaran Mutton – bone-in goat slow-cooked with garlic and spice – and a coastal Prawn Gassi with red chilli, coconut, and tamarind.

“We’re not trying to reinvent Indian food – we’re showcasing it in a setting people might not expect. Think Indian flavours, local produce, and a glass of great wine. It’s casual, warm, and full of heart,” Kabir said.

The venue’s name reflects a double meaning, “Bar” as a local wine destination, and “Bazaar” referencing both Indian marketplaces and the venue’s in-house produce shelf, where patrons can purchase house-made pickles, chutneys, and sauces.

The 45-seat space combines design elements inspired from Indian bazaars with modern, coastal elements. The venue is open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday, and for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays.
