Mikey Enright and Julian Train had already opened one of the world’s most respected gin bars in the Barbershop and then followed suit with an amazing representation of a classic old boozer in the Duke of Clarence. They have stepped it up a rather large notch in the opening of Hickson House.

Hickson House Distilling Co is the latest, much anticipated venture from Mikey Enright and Julian Train, the team behind The Barber Shop and The Duke of Clarence, joined by distiller Tim Stones (ex-Manly Spirits).
The Duke of Clarence opened in December 2017, and has had a pretty good time of things since then: they’ve expanded to trade seven days a week, from midday to 2am, and picked up a bunch of awards recognition — like the title of New Bar of the Year at the 2018 Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards.
Mike Enright is to open a new bar, called The Barber Shop, on York Street in Sydney’s CBD. Opening in the early July it’s a collaboration between Enright, Julian Train and Chris Mills, and will feature a classic barber shop with a bar out back.
