The Bartender of the Year Competition which is proudly sponsored by Hendrick’s Gin & Monkey Shoulder is getting a bit of a shake-up in 2023. With a whopping prize of a trip to Scotland on offer, the format of the comp has also been changed, meaning the entire event will run over one day.
If you haven’t voted already in this year’s Bartender Magazine Bar Awards, now is the time as voting closes at the end of May.
At the end of March, the winning team will be travelling to the undisputed birthplace of Rum in Barbados and treated to a week of leisure and activity at Plantation’s own mythical West Indies Rum Distillery.
Voting for the Bar Awards 2023 opens on Wednesday 1st March at australianbartender.com.au and we really want you to get involved. These awards are determined by your votes. Voting closes 31 May, so tell your staff and your hospo friends.

Some of the highlight winners on the night included Jay Cozma from The Baxter Inn taking out the Bar Manager of the Year award, Dylan Howarth and his team from Fortunate Son winning Bar of the Year and the folks from Rude Boy in Hobart taking out the Rum Bar of the Year award. It was also great to see the response to Loic Mouchelin and his team from Santé Cocktail Bar in Toowoomba winning best regional bar.
