Inspired by the ubiquitous small bars littered throughout Brazil, Boteco has created a warm and intimate space for patrons to hide away and nibble on fantastic treats and enjoy great drinks. “The drinks are totally focused on South American cocktails and flavours, but with a modern and exciting twist,” says owner Fabricio Campos. “The cocktail list was put together by Max Greco who was involved as a bar consultant.” The food style on offer is called Petiscos – or tasty food to share – in Portuguese. On offer is Brazilian beef, salt cod balls, whole king prawns sautéed with garlic, chili and fresh herbs. There are even traditional South American desserts like chocolate brownie served straight up with Brazilian Rum ice cream.

Fabricio considers music essential for creating the right vibe and he has got the place skipping and jumping to a soundtrack that comes from his vast selection of Brazilian tunes. The wines come only from Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and boutique vineyards from Brazil – so forget about you South Australian Cabernet for the night and try something exotic and exciting. Fabricio and the team want to invite Sydneysiders to enjoy a little piece of South America on their very doorstep. So why not take up their offer?
