Continuing to shake up the Melbourne drinking and dining scene, the Press Club Group has recently opened another sophisticated venue; PM24. The highly acclaimed chef Phillip Mouchel has come on board and the new addition is a modern French bistro that is sure to help set the trend for 2011. The Group described the new site as a ‘pioneering French bistro and rotisserie, with a light contemporary approach in a relaxed, casual and welcoming environment for the everyday diner’.Mouchel’s passion and knowledge for the French cuisine is reflected in the menu. “It will not be your traditional rich French food – the focus is on quality ingredients and serving them in a simple and tasty way,” Mouchel explains.
The venue’s wine list is extensive and with almost 300 choices available using the state of the art enomatic wine system, guests can experience a list that showcases both and French and Australian vintages. If you’re after something other than a wine, then the cocktails are just as impressive: French Illusion, Strawberries and Grand Marnier topped with Louis Roederer; Paris I Love You, Citron Vodka, Pastis, Lemon Juice, Splash of Soda and Basil Leaves or; Distilled in Jamaica, Corouba Rum, Galway Port, Coconut, Raspberries and a hint of Lime.
