The Burlington in Crows Nest has added something new, finally opening their new wine bar. Now offering guests a unique opportunity to enjoy a drink before dinner or the chance to relax with a cocktail at the bar. The Burlington, a well established eatery in the hub of the northern suburbs, has long been providing great food and drink to those in the know – and the newly added wine bar goes that little bit further by offering a more relaxed and casual area to enjoy a glass of your favourite wine.

Set in a cosy and moody surrounds, the new addition looks out onto the street through large glass windows, giving you some eye traffic as you sit back and unwind. Recline in the plush leather topped seats and enjoy the buzz when this little gem is jam packed. It’ll be a tight squeeze, but the atmosphere should be great and the food, being produced by Chef John Rankin, will be more than enough to keep you satisfied.

Chorizo & Manchego croquettes with smoked paprika aioli would be a good way to enjoy their Alto Adige Pinot Grigio, or perhaps the seared and tartare of Kingfish with falafels, cucumber, chilli would be a good match for the NZ’s Neudorf Sauvignon Blanc (from Nelson not Marlborough!). Pick of the reds? Try the Chilean Cabernet Franc by the glass for something different; or by the bottle the French 2008 Senat ‘La Nine’ from Minervois, Languedoc could be a good bet.
