With the ‘very soft opening’ for family, friends and a few bartenders now long in the past, the Attic is settling in as the new kid on the block, albeit with a well known and protective older brother whose got a good reputation. The new addition to the much loved and sought after night spot Blackpearl has been as important to the staff as to their customers says owner Nastasha Conte, but it hasn’t been without it’s share of trails.
“It’s been pretty crazy,” said Conte of the build up. ‘I waited three months for my Hoshizaki ice machine and then it got dropped off the back of the truck in front of the bar and it fell apart.’
The refreshing change of style upstairs means that the talented bar team is now able to spend more time on the floor with clients, tending to their needs, rather than a fleeting moment with them at the bar. While it certainly is the attic they’ve encapsulated, it’s without the dust and cobwebs that you’d normally expect to find – and the comfy leather couches are uncovered affording you a great place to sit down, relax and enjoys a cocktail or three.
With a solid listing of beers and spirits to choose from and a team of highly skilled (and awarded) bartenders – the new space at Blackpearl is something worth checking out.
