The spectacular Atlantic (and accompanying Den bar) is part of the Atlantic Group’s vision to provide high end dining in Melbourne. Tony Schiavello, Hatam Salah and Con Andronis are the Directors behind the venue and have compiled a team of highly qualified professionals whose aim is to establish a iconic eatery that stands out in Melbourne’s ever growing scene.

The venue was fitted out by Melbourne designer Blackmilk, mixing classic with modern and creating a streamlined interior that is eclectic in its use of materials but warm in its finish.

The ethos behind the venue is simple; ‘an ocean to plate philosophy inspires everything we do’, says the team and they pride themself on bringing the best of fresh seafood to the fore.


Executive Chef Donovan Cooke has developed a menu that evokes the senses as well as the appetite and he carefully selects produce from local and specialist suppliers in order to share the best of the ocean.

The food is matched by an equally impressive and thought through wine list that aims to accentuate the subtleties of the food and compliment it at every turn. Lead by Head Sommelier, James Dossan, the beverage team says; ‘Just like our food philosophy the nuances of the wine selection includes an intimate understanding of the grape variety, the terrior, the vintage and the wine maker’, all as a manner of bring the best of the product to the fore.

Underneath the raging Atlantic lies the Den; ‘a celebration of the ritual of the great cocktail and the pleasure of great bar service’. Bar manager David De Battista is heading up the bar team and he has amassed a spectacular collection of old scotches, rare Cognacs and hallmark rums to offer guests, as well as cocktails from the house list.

“The Den is a place of escape, a subterranean bar – sophisticated, sexy a bit moody and luxurious,” says De Battista. The underground tippling haunt takes inspiration from the great bars of the world.
