Perched next to a gated-off alleyway this open plan venue is offering a small urban oasis to anyone that is lucky enough to find it. Owners of 99 Problems Dion Waterman and Dan Michael Jones have backgrounds in print, publishing, music and hospitality and their collaboration has bred a bar with charmingly cool aesthetics.
The low-lit, comfortable interior shows flashes of cutting edge design by Rohan Newman of Robot Academy, and denim upholstery by Max Olijynk of Note To Self. “The bar began as a space for staff, friends and like-minded locals to hang out,” said Dion Waterman. “It’s about creating a community each and every patron feels a part of.” There’s Tiger Lager on tap, Coopers Pale plus a fair selection of Monteiths, Estrella and Tsingtao.
For a glass of wine, you can opt for the house 99 Problems (Sauv/ Shiraz or sparkling) or a few of their other choices such as; Veuve Clicquot if you’re in the need for a glass of bubbles or maybe some aromatic Gruner Veltiner to clear your head.
