Merivale has opened the doors to the Sydney CBD outpost of its successful Bondi venue, Totti’s. Bar Totti’s will take up street frontage on George Street in the group’s Ivy complex, and is set to offer an all day experience, from lunch until late in the evening.
Bar Totti’s is split into two spaces; a light and bright bar space that looks out onto George Street, and a second which is darker and structured around a horseshoe-shaped bar, set down a level inside, and offering a more moody aesthetic and DJs when the sun goes down.
Bar Totti’s differs from its Bondi sibling in that it focuses more on the bar side of things, and the kind of place you can drop into any hour of the afternoon or evening for a drink, or for a feed if that’s what is required.
“Bar Totti’s takes the best parts of Totti’s in Bondi and then turns up the bar focus a few notches with separate bars over two connecting spaces,” says Merivale group bars manager Sam Egerton.
Expect the drinks to be Italian-inspired and classically structured, with food to match.

“That delicious bread remains and some of the best drinks from the opening menu of Totti’s remain with a few extra gems in for good measure,” Egerton says. “This promises to bring fun and flavour back to George Street and I can’t wait to sink a few Garibaldi’s watching the trams go past.”
Foodwise, there’s an emphasis on antipasti: sardines, octopus, anchovies and burrata are among more than 20 items on the antipasti list; for a little more, they’ll be grilling chicken, king prawns, garfish and more.
