No expense was spared with activations jam packed into the venue with everything from tattoo artists, pinky nails, Mario Kart, live acts, and a passport to delicious cocktail around the venue. Last night bartenders from across the country gathered at Grain bar to see seven teams from Australia and New Zealand compete for the first Plantation Rum Cup with Teresa Cocktail Bar from Napier, New Zealand taking out the win with their cocktail ‘The Boccioni’s Punch’.
Emma from Australia, will be heading to the grand final to go head-to-head with the best bartenders from around the globe at Athens Bar Show on 7th November 2022, hosted by award winning bartender and Global elit Martini Master Ambassador, Jack Sotti, for a money can’t buy prize.
Simon will be doing the usual Brand Ambassador activities with a guest bartending spot here and brand education there but he is mostly here to see Australia’s phenomenal hospitality industry again and spread the good work of Fords London Dry Gin.
A very special Bar Week version of Take Over Tuesday is on the cards at PS40 this September.
Australia’s most highly-awarded gin producer, Never Never Distilling Co. are bringing the very best flavour jedis to Sydney Bar Week with a full bar takeover at PS40 on Tuesday, September 6th.
The Australian winner was Thomas Opie from Births & Deaths in Wollongong NSW. He will now compete against other bartenders from all over the world in the global final of The Vero Bartender in Italy in October 22.

Inspired by Hunter Thompson’s famous quote, “When the going gets weird, the weird turns pro.” Chris’s winning drink was a contemporary twist on a gimlet combining flavours such as mango, cacao and tea.
An all-expenses trip to the home of Bourbon, Kentucky to dance the night away to MUSE- live from the distillery grounds at the global Jim Beam Welcome Session! (Whoa that’s a mouthful, but we didn’t want to spare any details!)
Elephant Gin is marking World Elephant Day, August 12, with a milestone, 1mil EUR donated to African elephant conservation. Since it’s inception in 2013, Elephant Gin has been donating 15% of it’s profits to conservation of this beautiful species by way of supporting three charities.
Following their bee experience bartenders headed back to the bar with their new found knowledge and supply of local honey to experiment and get creative. Their task was to put their spin on the Aberfeldy classics – the Hot Toddy and the Golden Dram.
