The iconic pizza joint Connie’s started as just a hole-in-the-wall in 2017, inside the iconic rock ‘n’ roll bar, Heartbreaker. Now with a new space directly above Heartbreaker, Connie’s has expanded into a standalone modern 100-seat trattoria, showcasing traditional dishes inspired by Michael’s memories of growing up in his family’s Italian restaurants with his Nonna, Connie.

There’s a new bar coming for Michael Madrusan and Zara Young, the people behind the Made In The Shade Group which owns some of Melbourne’s best bars, The Everleigh and Heartbreaker. The group plans to open Bar Margaux in May, in a basement on Londsdale street in the Melbourne CBD.
When The Everleigh opened its doors in early July it was clear that Melbourne really did have its next big thing – this was after all the Australian connection to the fabled Milk & Honey’s. Heard of them?
