There’s a new destination for beer in Surry Hills: Keg & Brew. Taking over what was once — and for a long time, too — the KB Hotel, Keg & Brew is offering some 30 taps of amber goodness on Foveaux Street and they’re mining the food and drink of the US for inspiration (bourbon is a focus here, too). That inspiration follows through into the kitchen, with fried chicken, Philly cheesesteak, BBQ ribs and a New York hot dog being sent out from the pass.
And the team behind Keg & Brew has form in taking old Surry Hills pubs and making them new. They’re the team that got Devonshire Street’s Dove & Olive humming, and they’ve done a great job with their craft beer focus there.
