Teeling Whiskey now available in the on-premise market
Dublin’s first new distillery in 125 years, The Teeling Whiskey Company, is now exporting the world’s best Irish single malt whiskey to Australia. Once the most popular spirit in the world, Irish whiskey experienced significant decline in the late 19th century onwards primarily due to prohibition in America and the Irish War of Independence. As luck would have it, the category is once again experiencing a surge in popularity and is currently the fastest growing spirits category in the world.
As Ireland’s leading independent whiskey producer, the opening of this distillery ensures Teeling Whiskey Company has complete control of all aspects of its whiskey production, from the grain to the bottle, allowing them to drive innovation within the category and build on their ever growing reputation of producing some of the world’s best whiskeys.
“It is exciting to be working with an Irish whiskey company that takes pride in the quality of their product and is passionate about their heritage while driving innovation and choice within the Irish Whiskey category,” says National Brand Manager Eddie Brook.
The family’s whiskey heritage dates back to 1782 when Walter Teeling had a distillery only a stone’s throw away from where the new distillery stands, on Marrowbone Lane in the Liberties of Dublin. As a new generation of Irish whiskey makers, Teeling are respectful to the rich provenance and heritage of Irish whiskey and are confident to forge a new future for Dublin and Irish whiskey.
Distributed in Australia in the on-premise by SouthTrade International, the trade can now enjoy TWC’s signature whiskey; Teeling Small Batch Rum Cask Finish, along with Teeling Single Grain, Single Malt, and Poitin; while whiskey aficionados can expand their collections with Teeling 21 year old silver bottling, Teeling 26 year old gold bottling and one of the oldest ever bottlings of Irish Single Malt, Teeling 30 year old platinum bottling.
Most recently, Teeling Single Malt was named ‘World’s Best’ at the 2015 World Whiskies Awards and Teeling Small Batch was awarded ‘Gold- Best Blended Irish Whiskey’ at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
