Fortunate Son owner, Dylan Howarth will open Palomino Lounge in 2023. Here’s what we know.

Industry stalwart and owner of Fortunate Son, our 2022 Bar of the Year, Dylan Howarth has taken over the lease of a bar directly across the road from Fortunate Son, on Enmore Road. It’s joining an impressive group of bars in the area including Jacoby’s and Bar Louise.

Details are still limited but with plans to open as soon as possible but with a realistic timeline of October.

Dylan says: “It’s going to be all the things you love about Fortunate Son – banging cocktails and a neighbourhood bar vibe – with a little more space and some agave from the vault.”

On the drinks front, expect classics and some twists, authentic Fortunate Son style.

Dylan is a legend of the industry, who over the past two decades has been involved in training programs, the launching of the Drink Cabinet and the opening of his dream bar Fortunate Son with Jason Crawley back in 2019. Dylan bought Jason out of the bar during COVID and has continued to run this cocktailing institution since then, now finally having the inclination and the opportunity to expand.

Dylan and his family are back on the tools, overhauling the site, called Palomino Lounge, which will accommodate 60 people. We can’t wait.
