The team from the successful Cru Bar + Cellar have opened a new bar in Brisbane, called At Sixes and Sevens. The name is derived from the English phrase of the same name that describes one being in a little disarray and confusion. Yet the team clearly know what they’re doing judging by the strength of this offering.
“We are trading 11am to midnight seven days,” said general manager, Sally McGregor. “We really wanted to create a local for people to call their own. A relaxed, casual atmosphere, bar service, no bookings and reasonably priced fare.”
And by all accounts the locals are taking to it quickly – news of their soft opening got around town and within an hour of the doors opening they were jam-packed.
“The venue went off with a bang,” said McGregor, “which was awesome, given we just opened the doors without any fanfare early December. It is still going strong, lots of 20- and 30-somethings in for afternoon and evening sessions.”
With a bar ethos that says: “The speak was easy, the food shared, the drink appreciated,” this a bar and attitude we like!
