Sixth generation member of the Cointreau family, Alfred Cointreau, launched Cointreau Noir in Sydney on Wednesday night. Guests gathered at Cafe del Mar in Darling Harbour as the sun went down, and were treated to a number of top notch Cointreau noir cocktails, while they watched Alfred Cointreau and Sydney bartender Luke Hanzlicek go through a tasting of the liqueur and whip up a Sidecar and a Sangria.
Cointreau Noir is inspired by a 1900 era Cointreau bottling created by Edouard Cointreau, and includes fine champagne cognac with Cointreau, and a maceration of nuts and almonds. Australia is just the second market outside of France to receive the product, said Cointreau.
Cointreau Noir will be available from April. For more information contact your Suntory representative.
