France wins the 2015 Bacardi Legacy global final

Last night at a big gala event at Sydney’s Town Hall, the winner of the 2015 Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition was announced.

A field of great bartenders representing 34 countries across the globe has gathered in Sydney over the past week, and competed in the semi-finals held on Friday and Saturday. This determined the final eight competitors who took to the stage last night.

The large crowd that had gathered to witness the spectacle were treated to eight inspiring presentations from bartenders representing France, New Zealand, Lebanon, China, South Africa, Singapore, Ireland and Greece.

The winner at the end of the night was Frank Didieu from France. Didieu won with his Bacardi Legacy cocktail, Le Latin, a mix of sugar, lemon juice, white wine, and a hint of olive brine, shaken and served up and garnished with an olive.

Dideu was named the winner after the final eight was reduced to the top three, which included New Zealand’s Barney Toy and his drink The Pan Am Cocktail, and Jad Ballout from Lebanon with his drink El Mediterraneo.
