In London last night the annual World’s 50 Best Bars honours were held.
It was a great night for the Aussies, with four Australian bars securing a place among the World’s 50 Best Bars.
Coming in at 28 on the list was Sydney’s Bulletin Place. In 25th position, Melbourne cocktail bar The Everleigh again secured a place on the list.
This year, however, there were two Australian bars in the top ten. Melbourne institution and birthplace for many a good bartender’s career, Black Pearl, was announced as the 10th best bar in the world, topping off a year which also saw the Pearl take out an award at Tales and at the Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards.
And it was The Baxter Inn, coming in at number six in the world, that was also crowned the best bar in Australasia again this year.
The World’s 50 Best Bars list is put on by Drinks International, a UK-based trade magazine dedicated to the spirits industry.
