Take a seat with The Everleigh’s new book A Spot at the Bar

It’s a pretty auspicious moment right now for good books about fine drinking: we recently highlighted the release of Regarding Cocktails by the late Sasha Petraske (find out more about the book — and why you should have a copy — here), and now comes the release of The Everleigh’s new book A Spot at the Bar by Michael Madrusan and Zara Young.

The timing is appropriate, of course, because Michael Madrusan is a former bartender of Petraske’s, having done time behind the fabled stick of Milk & Honey, and when The Everleigh opened Petraske was on hand as his business partner.

And it’s that connection which opens the book, with a heartfelt note to Petraske — Chief, as he calls him — at the front of the book.

What follows is a classic cocktail book filled with recipes, anecdotes, thoughts and tips and techniques and one worthy of a bar of the esteemed reputation as The Everleigh. Coupled with smart illustrations and some paraphernalia from some of the world’s most storied bars, A Spot at the Bar should find a home on the back bar of any bartender serious about making good drinks and delivering a good time.
