Relaunching in April, the matriarch pub of Camperdown has been resurrected with locals and live music in mind. Live music takeovers spanning genres will operate every week from Wednesday to Sunday in an effort to foster new and established artists both locally and from around the world.

Lady Hampshire’s welcoming atmosphere has been enhanced in the transformation and aims to keep alive the pub’s unique eccentricities and will hopefully breathe new life into the kitchen. PUBLIC has put their efforts behind live music, investing in the venue’s sound system and flow, ready for big nights of Australia’s best emerging musical talents in one long gig room.

Local talent in the form of artwork will also be exhibited with some works for sale, with Scott Marsh’s iconic mural being preserved so punters can still enjoy a drink with Aussie legends Kath & Kim, Cathy Freeman, Adam Goodes and Steve Irwin to name a few. For a more relaxed energy, The Lady’s 100% recycled urban beer garden is set to be a favourite spot for beers on sunny Sydney afternoons.

Culture king George Gorrow who helped revamp The Lady says, “the design concept was to create an ever-evolving hospitality and music space, whilst also retaining the original character of the venue, with our primary focus being to expand the venue’s role in the community as a live music venue”.

Head Chef Brendan King has created a menu where there is nowhere to hide behind the simple, honest and hearty dishes that showcase the young chefs culinary skills. Diners can expect house-made, locally sourced ingredients in seriously good pub feeds, including a Guinness Shepherd’s Pie, Half Roast Chicken and a Hampshire Smash Burger which will be served on mismatched, vintage plates. Punters will also find snacks such as salt and pepper wings, samosa spring rolls and koftas with hummus to tide them over and accompany drinks.

Lady Hampshire is owned and operated by PUBLIC, whose priority is putting heritage, community, and experience first as seen throughout their plethora of other venues.
