For the third edition taking place on Tuesday 27th September The Everleigh’s very own Venue Manager, Katya Owens will lead the discussion on the people, events and drinks that defined a moment in time. Travel back to 1892, where cocktails and their history will be explored as depicted by William Schmidt in his book “The Flowing Bowl — What and When to Drink”.
Last night at Shell House in Sydney, Norwegian bartender, Adrián Michal?ík, mixed, stirred and shook his way to the title of World Class Global Bartender of the Year. Fifty bartenders from around the world made their way to Sydney for this final part of the global competition
Of particular significance was the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SIP Awards) which saw Archie Rose awarded Double Gold for their Bone Dry and Distillers Strength Gins and Gold for their newly launched Sunrise Lime Gin Harvest.
The entry challenge, called Hometown Hero, will require entrants to develop a cocktail that blends PATRÓN Silver tequila with the bartender’s local culture, using ingredients from a prescribed list, the Pantry.

With more than 100 venues involved, food and drink enthusiasts will toast to some of the world’s best beverages thanks to Don Julio tequila, Tanqueray No. TEN, Johnnie Walker Blue Label, The Singleton single malt Scotch whisky, and more, alongside award-winning international talent such as Roy Choi, Ryan Chetiyawardana, Ago Perrone and Monica Berg to name a few.

No expense was spared with activations jam packed into the venue with everything from tattoo artists, pinky nails, Mario Kart, live acts, and a passport to delicious cocktail around the venue. Last night bartenders from across the country gathered at Grain bar to see seven teams from Australia and New Zealand compete for the first Plantation Rum Cup with Teresa Cocktail Bar from Napier, New Zealand taking out the win with their cocktail ‘The Boccioni’s Punch’.
Emma from Australia, will be heading to the grand final to go head-to-head with the best bartenders from around the globe at Athens Bar Show on 7th November 2022, hosted by award winning bartender and Global elit Martini Master Ambassador, Jack Sotti, for a money can’t buy prize.
Simon will be doing the usual Brand Ambassador activities with a guest bartending spot here and brand education there but he is mostly here to see Australia’s phenomenal hospitality industry again and spread the good work of Fords London Dry Gin.
