Inspired by his mother, Esprit de Figues is Patrick Borg’s labour of love

Originally inspired by his family’s Mediterranean heritage, Borg’s mother migrated from Malta to Australia in the 1960’s and brought a small clipping of her favourite fruit – the fig. To this day, the tree she planted still produces luscious figs for only two precious months each year.

BACARDÍ Legacy entries open 1 August

Now in its fifth chapter, BACARDÍ Legacy was established to challenge the best contemporary bartenders in the world to create their own cocktail Legacy – that will stand the test of time and ensure that both bartender and beverage are remembered like the illustrious classic cocktails of the past. Drinks such as the Daiquiri and the Mojito are now revered as classic and are as much part of the unique legacy of Don Facundo Bacardi Masso as the rum itself.
