Following on from the successful inaugural Sommeliers Education Course in 2008, application is now open for the 2009 programme, offering a select group of just 12 working up-and-coming Sommeliers from across Australia an incredible opportunity to develop their skills. Sommeliers Australia Co-President, Ben Edwards said of the program: “The professional growth of those that completed the 2008 Course has been outstanding, and a testament to the validity of this Course. Those 2008 scholars have demonstrated a marked increase in skill, knowledge and confidence. Many of our Sommeliers are being courted for international posts, and we want to further the reputation of this very important role in the dining experience.”
The world-class and intensive program acts as a preparatory course for those wishing to enter the international Court of Master Sommelier program, and combines aspects of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET)*, the Court of Master Sommeliers* and The Len Evans Tutorial* in an unique and distinctly international tasting and benchmarking program that is also very sympathetic to the Australian market.
Applications Now Open for Sommeliers Australia-wide and close on Friday, 31 July, 2009.
Key selection criteria and the application process are available from www.sommeliers.com.au
