Bille Jean Bray – The Gresham, Brisbane

“For world bartender day I am holding a “Dolls & Drams” whisky tasting event. I will be hosting the session aimed at women who love to drink that liquid gold, featuring  five (5) whiskies from around the world out of the Beam Suntory portfolio.

“Basically getting a heap of girls together for a drink and also to break the stigma that is ‘whisky is a man’s drink.’

“The Dolls & Drams Facebook page is up and soon to be advertised online by the Gresham bar.”

Kayla Grigoriou – Bar Torino, Adelaide

“I’m doing a Whiskey pairing with five (5) drams and five (5) matched tapas for World Bartender Day at Bar Torino. Also the whole week we are doing Whiskey flights.

“We are calling it “Whisk(ey) me away”;  travel the world to our favourite whiskey or whisky locations! Explore the differences between the Scottish, the Irish, the American and Japanese whiskies while chef prepares a tapas item to accompany each tasting. Get ready to enjoy the distilling likes of Hakushu, Laphroaig, Maker’s Mark and a little surprise at the end!

“$60pp, 5.30pm on Sunday the 25th!”

Kurtis Bosley – The Royal Paddington, Sydney

The Royal are giving you the chance to WIN a $200 venue voucher. Kurtis has created the ‘Hanami’ cocktail using Hakushu, and all you need to do is post your best photo of the cocktail at The Royal and tag @royalhotelpaddo for your chance to WIN!  Sounds easy and the drink is delicious! So you can’t lose really.

Jono Carr — Door Knock, Sydney

“As part of World Bartender Day we are hosting an intimate whisky, food and Cocktail pairing event with the Beautiful Michael Nouri, fresh from visiting distilleries all over the world.

“I’ll also be showcasing my entry for The Perfect Blend competition, ‘Nicely Toasted’ and sharing the story behind it. 6-7pm Wednesday 21st all for $35.”

Al Simmons — Illido Bar Pizza, Darwin

“Movie night and cocktails!

“This Sunday night you’re invited to join us for drinks food and a film to celebrate “World Bartender Day!”  We will be playing the Cohen Brother’s classic, “The Big Lebowski,” the film that inspired my cocktail for The Perfect Blend Competition. On Sale will be my drink, “The Little Lebowski” at a discounted price for those attending the event, only $12!”

James Mason — Daddy Long Legs, Perth

“Starting Monday 19th Feb, we’re proud to do our bit for the week-long celebration leading up to World Bartender Day on Feb 24th, when James will be competing with Perth’s best cocktail bartenders. The Rye Of The Beholder will be available  for $15.

“For those that are new to the professional cocktail scene, these drinks are something special. Come on down and see what it’s all about.”

Rachel Merrit — Jangling Jack’s, Sydney

“Alongside New Orleans-inspired “15 Minutes to Midnight” our chef will be cooking up some New Orleans delights in the form of $5 Po Boys. Also over the weekend we have some special gifts to give away to those who order the cocktail. All will be revealed when you order – so be sure to come down!”

Pouya Khoshtarash and Sagar Siggy Acharya — Sandbar Darwin.

Don’t miss your opportunity to wish Pouya and Siggy all the best for the final on 6th March in Adelaide!

They will be mixing up samples of their cocktails “Southern-Leigh” & “Glowing Sunset” and once you have picked your favourite, they will be available to purchase.  There will be live music with James Damien that kicks off at 8pm followed by a DJ until the early hours of the morning.

Anna Nguyen — Button, Sydney

“For WBD, my cocktail will be available and promoted across all House of Pocket Venues spread around NSW (Button, Stitch, Pocket, Pocket Terrigal and Crooked Tailor)!

“Also, anyone who comes into Button that orders my cocktail and manages to listen to the incredibly cheesy love story which inspired my cocktail without laughing/feeling nauseous wins a prize – which includes a mystery box and my begrudging respect.”

Lachlan Gunner – The Wild Rover, Sydney

Wild Rover’s Lachlan Gunner has reached the finals in the competition this year and we’re encouraging all customers to come down and enjoy his creation, ‘Clear Skies’.

“One piece of advice I wish I received growing up is this: ‘Honour the past and embrace the future but definitely celebrate the here and now’. We never truly understand how irrelevant our pasts are at the time. They need to be honoured, yet we spend too much time either quibbling over what’s happened or spend our days trying to relive it.

“So let’s celebrate the now.”

Simone  Sanna — 1806, Melbourne

Has gone to extreme lengths and put his passion for his creation that one step further. A tattoo inspired by the ingredients in his cocktail tattood on his shoulder. This is a must  see. His cocktails is based on one of the Hokusai Fuji’s series, it’s about the celebration of spring for Japanese merchants. Since the snow was melting and they could trade their whisky again.
