There’s still time to nab a ticket to the Bar Awards and a coveted spot on the front cover of the October issue of Bartender Magazine. All you need to do is submit your reinvention of the iconic Lemon, Lime and Angostura bitters.
The House of Angostura is challenging bartenders to ‘Reinvent an Icon’ by creating a twist, or a totally new take, on the iconic LLB. The top three drinks will not only win their creators tickets to this year’s Bar Awards, but also spots on the front cover of the October issue of Bartender Magazine.
Angostura aromatic bitters is globally recognised as an essential bar ingredient; it remains the quintessential and definitive ingredient for classic and contemporary cocktails as well as the iconic Lemon, Lime and Angostura bitters.
“The Lemon, Lime and Angostura bitters is a refreshing, non-alcoholic serve, and in Australia, the home of the LLB, we drink more than 100 million serves every year. But is it time to rethink the LLB? We think so,” said Dan Gregory.
“Today we are way more health-conscious than we’ve ever been, and so people want low sugar, low alcohol options. They already put their own twist on classic drinks like Lemon, Lime and Angostura bitters by swapping out the lemonade for soda and using fresh lime instead of cordial. We’re asking what makes a true modern day non-alcoholic mixed drink.”
If you think you can reinvent an icon like the classic Lemon, Lime and Angostura bitters, then get creative and submit your version.
