Bopp & Tone: take a look at Applejack’s latest venue

Bopp & Tone is the latest venue to join the stable of Sydney hospitality group, Applejack.

The bar and restaurant is the first CBD venue for the group whose other bars include, Della Hyde, The Butler, The Botanist, SoCal and more.

Bopp & Tone is named for the grandfathers of the Applejack owners, Ben Carroll and Hamish Watts (Carroll’s grandfather, 94 year old Anthony ‘Tone’ Adams, was the guest of honour at the official launch).

They’ve taken over the site of Steel and transformed it into warm, classic and elegant space that channels a kind of 1940s Sydney kinda vibe.

There’s plenty of cured meats to indulge in — like LP’s mortadella — and Italian-inflected small plates to snack on — there’s even a potato scallop, which we can get behind, but we’ll likely order up the clams.

And we’ll definitely be ordering the cocktails — leaning into a Spritz or two — which are the works of the group’s beverage manager, Lachy Sturrock.
