These two parties will bring the ruckus — and raise some cash — for Drink4Uganda

The bar teams on board for the Sydney Drink4Uganda event.

A couple of years back we brought you news that Sydney bartender Mitch Horrocks had launched Drink4Uganda, a hospitality-based initiative to help bring clean drinking water to communities in Uganda.

Through his platform 663toZERO, Horrocks and co held two parties back in 2017 — one in Sydney and one in Melbourne — and raised thousands of dollars that went on to deliver clean drinking water to thousands of Ugandans.

This year, they’ve expanded the events to a tour of Australia, with events in Melbourne and Perth together already having raised $23,000. There’s three more parties left on the calendar for you to get along to and support, with the next one in Brisbane this weekend on Sunday 10th at Finney Isles. Bar teams from The Gresham, The Bowery, Brooklyn Standard, Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall, and the forthcoming Lucky Duck Club will be on hand to cause a ruckus behind the stick.

The Sydney event takes place at The Baxter Inn from 4pm on Sunday 17 February. Bar teams from Maybe Sammy, Bulletin Place, Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern, and The Lobo Plantation will get behind the stick at Baxter, with the party continuing on at PS40 from 9pm.

There is an Adelaide event in the works as well, so stay tuned for details.
