Check out the Spirited Talks on offer at Indie Spirits Tasting Brisbane this Sunday

The Indie Spirits Tasting Brisbane is on this weekend, and for those attending we’ve got some great Spirited Talks lined up for the afternoon.

Now in its fourth year in Brisbane, the Indie Spirits Tasting takes place at Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall on Sunday May 26 from 1pm till 4pm. The event is presented by Australian Bartender magazine, the country’s leading drinks mag and website for the bar industry, and is designed to give you an inside track on the latest booze products to hit the market, direct from the backbar and the still, with a focus on handcrafted and locally-made hooch.

There will be three lively talks taking place on the day, talking about topics like terroir, starting a spirits brand, and diving into some lesser known — yet still delicious — spirits.

Access to the talks is free with your Indie Spirits Tasting ticket — click here to get yours ASAP as there’s only a few left.

Check out the topics of the talks below.

INDIE SPIRITS TASTING TALKS
Indie Spirits Tasting Brisbane will also feature a series of short and sharp seminars in the front bar. First in, best dressed.

1.30pm – 2pm: A distilled sense of place: Is terroir in spirits really a thing?
Spirits, like wine and beer, are agricultural products at heart: they begin their life in the wheat field, sugarcane plantation, or apple orchard. We ask three top producers whether location matters when it comes to the raw materials used in their spirit production.

2.30pm – 3pm: So, you want to start a spirits brand?
The spirits world is only getting bigger, with new brands and tasty bottles being created every other week. The question is, how do you do it? Get business and creativity advice from some of Australia’s top spirits brands.

3.30pm – 4pm: The Other Guys (the lesser known spirits)
We know gin is huge right now, and we know you like your rum, vodka, and whisky. But what about the other guys? This tasting session sees us pull together a few of the lesser known spirits to learn more about why they too are tasty.

Tickets are just $55 (plus booking fee) and include access to all spirit samples, live music, a signature Lefty’s burger & fries and spirited seminars. You can also score a bargain with exhibitors offering these hard to find brands for sale directly from their tables. It’s not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The Indie Spirits Tasting events are proudly presented by the team at Australian Bartender magazine. Head to our website to read all the latest stories about cocktail trends, cocktail bars and the the best booze in the country.
