June 23 will mark 10 years since this little cocktail bar on Clarence St in the Sydney CBD opened its doors.
“Back in 2013, we never dreamed we would make it this far or that we would receive the love that we have from Sydney and beyond,” said the team. “Lobo has become a Sydney institution renowned for its great cocktails, and fun atmosphere. 10 years is a huge milestone for us, and an achievement we look back on with pride.”
Over the past decade, Lobo has cemented its standing as one of Australia’s most well-known and highly awarded (Rum Bar of the Year at Australian Bar Awards 2021, 2016, 2015, Time Out awarded Bar of the Year 2015, Best Bar Team, and more), rum-fuelled cocktail bars.
To celebrate a decade of fun times the team are hosting four nights of amazing events for Sydney’s rum lovers.

Friday, June 23rd – Lobo’s 10th Birthday.
We kick off the weekend with a Friday like no other. We are making this milestone a night to remember. If you’ve ever been to a Lobo birthday before, you know it is a wild night. There will be daiquiris flowing, a Caribbean live band and cake!

Sunday, June 25th (Sydney) & Sunday July 2nd (Hobart) – Lobo and Rude Boy bar swap!
We are celebrating our love of rum and fine bartending by partnering with Australia’s current Bartender Magazine’s Rum Bar of the Year, Rude boy and hosted by Bacardi Australia. Hailing from Tasmania, they are world class and some of the best rum slingers Australia has to offer. Our good friends from Rude Boy will be spending the evening behind our bar showcasing unique cocktails, decent banter and a whole ton of good times.

Wray and Nephew is one of Jamaica’s most prolific and unique rums, known for it’s notable signature funk with hints of banana, candied walnuts and white woollies mudcake. Campari Australia has only recently start importing this delicious high proof rum into Australia and we couldn’t be happier. To celebrate, Wray and Nephew will take over Lobo for one night only. Hold on to your hats, this is going to be one wild night! Just like the rum itself, we’d like to bring the funk with dancehall and afrobeats DJ’s, bespoke Wray and Nephew cocktails (including the highly anticipated return of the WraynBu from Lobo’s very first cocktail list!), cocktail slushies, delicious snacks, and a whole lot of fun.

Tuesday, June 27th – Australian Rum Educational Panel
Capping off a weekend of fun, we wanted to highlight the amazing things being done locally in the Rum category. Lobo loves rum, and we could not be prouder to see the leaps and bounds Australian Rum has made in the last decade. We are bringing together some amazing distillers from across the country for an afternoon of Q n A’s, and rum tasting. This will be a great opportunity to see what sets Australian rum apart from the rest of the world, and celebrate where these amazing distillers are headed. Be prepared for some amazing rum chats from woman-led distillery Soltera Rums, Banks and Solander, Winding Road Distillery, and more
