Paddo RSL, 232 Oxford Street #220, Paddington
10/9/23 8PM – LATE
In truth, we all face adversity and internal conflict through life in our own way. It often appears that some have it all figured out, when we are all flawed individuals living within our own orchestra of crazy – it’s just that some are better at hiding it than others.
We all face doubts and fears, virtually all the time. Don’t you sometimes wish you could turn the doubts off, or at least remember to remind yourself that things aren’t really that bad and that we can overcome seeming challenges if we’re centred and rational? The actuality is that we all – every one of us – are in a constant struggle to be more purposeful, operate at an effective level across all areas of our lives, and to attract positive energies of the universe to which all matter is bound.
“So, if you’re picking up what we’re putting down here, then you will recognize the sheer magnitude of a decision made to engage in a new sport and compete under the bright lights in front of your peers after just 3-months of intense training, and the velocity of change this opportunity represents for some of your peers in the industry right now.”
A lot of the time the impact of the many forces at play around us is influencing our mental state. The idea is to put yourself in a place and polarity that is more positive than negative, and like a snowball effect, gather momentum to reach a state of strength, both of mind and body.
Exercise and sport play a vital role in this equation – and in pinning the point – if you’re lucky enough to have opportunities to gain positive momentum, then you should take them! The hard truth is that if you’re not going forward, then you’re going backwards.
So, if you’re picking up what we’re putting down here, then you will recognize the sheer magnitude of a decision made to engage in a new sport and compete under the bright lights in front of your peers after just 3-months of intense training, and the velocity of change this opportunity represents for some of your peers in the industry right now.
These individuals are learning to attack one day at a time, forcing themselves to drive forward with focus and moment; trying to not think too far ahead. All the while, life matters that were once obstacles are becoming less significant as our bartender boxers train their minds and bodies for resolute toughness.
We’re weeks away from BBO Sydney Bar Week 2023 bouts, taking place this year at Paddo RSL on Sunday 10th of September, from 7:30PM. We hope you’re able to follow the personal stories, and if you can, come along to support the sanctioned amateur bouts and celebrate these real-life industry warriors.
Our Sydney event continues to be dedicated to our late brother Ben Carlotto, who was a pioneer of the Australian bar scene.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite under ‘Bartender Boxing Organization’, and as usual, we will be donating to the Black Dog Institute and mental health.
Our events are presented by brands partners who support better industry health, and this year Bartender Boxing Org. Sydney Bar Week 2023 is proudly presented by:
