Voting for this year’s Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards has smashed all previous returning a record number of votes tallied for 2011! The count was tireless and numbers came a whopping 23 per cent higher than last year proving that this valuable industry initiative continues to be the focal point of the bar industry’s calendar.

Bartender Magazine’s Most Influential List

The voting for the Bartender Magazine’s Top 50 Most Influential List has just wrapped up. The nominated Top 50 for 2011 will be released in Bartender’s upcoming March edition. The inaugural Most Influential List event took off in 2009 with Vernon Chalker (Gin Palace and Madame Brussels, Melbourne) taking out the top spot. “It was a great honour to win,” said Chalker recently, “the greatest form of flattery is if others look to my work for inspiration.”
