The World’s 50 Best Bars has announced the extended 51-100 list with a re-entry from Australia, Melbourne’s Byrdi at No.61!
In this day and age, as more and more bars, bartenders and bar owners are so desperate to get on the World’s 50 Best Bars list (or the newer Top 500 List, whatever that is), I know that many such people believe that international pop ups are a good way to get noticed.

In news just in, three Sydney bars have made the cut in the World’s 50 Best Bars. A huge congrats to Maybe Sammy (11), Cantina OK! (28) and Bulletin Place (39). London’s Connaught bar knocked Dante off the top spot.
Bars and cocktail lovers are invited to join the digital countdown of the list of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2020 through The World’s 50 Best Bars Facebook page and 50 Best Bars TV channel on YouTube. The streamed ceremony will begin at Thursday 3pm UK time (or 2am Friday morning AEST), culminating in the announcement of The World’s Best Bar
From a local standpoint, for Melbourne bars made the list. The Everleigh in Melbourne was a new entry and the highest Aussie bar in the 51 to 100 coming in at 73. Byrdi Melbourne came in at 80, Above Board at 84 and Black Pearl at 98. Great news for four of the city’s best bars who are just slowly creeping out of lockdown.
The announcement of The World’s 50 Best Bars 2020, will be made on 5th November live on Facebook and youtube.
