Located a stone’s throw from Geelong’s CBD, across from Steam Packet Gardens and offering enviable waterfront views, The Edge is offers both dinning and drinking in intimate, stylish surrounds. Located in a 1962 factory the design team’s (Geyer), brief was simply to create an intimate ambience regardless of whether it was day or night, while also incorporating a generous al fresco dining area on the beachfront. Given a free hand, Geyer’s design team took inspiration from classic New York loft style architecture, making the most of the abundant natural light available the seaside location and featuring high ceilings, exposed services, and a sleek industrial aesthetic. The project is a joint venture of Geelong Football star, Cameron Ling, and three other investors and is already proving to be a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The menu offers utilizes the finest local produce, and contains an enticing list of grazing plates and tapas, along with an agreeable quantity of pub classics. There’s a succinct wine list and plentiful brews, with the bar offering a select number of traditional and seasonally inspired cocktails. The Edge is open from breakfast till late seven days a week.
