Opened in March this year in a derelict 108 year old building, Ellington Jazz Club (named after influential jazz figure Duke Ellington), is an intimate New York style live jazz venue with an upstairs modern cocktail bar and function areas. Owner, Graham Wood and Bernard Kong, are responsible for the venue design in conjunction with Renae Tapley (interior architect). The programme also features everything from jam sessions, big bands, fusion groups, the finest vocalists, new music ensembles, Hammond organ trios and quartets and cutting edge improvising ensembles.
