Australian Bartender magazine, the country’s leading title dedicated to the bar biz, is looking for one full-time journalist and one part-time journalist to join their ranks.
The full-time role will involve:
- Researching and writing articles for Bartender magazine & 4bars.com.au
- Interviewing key industry figures
- Managing contributors and editing their work
- Managing budgets
- Overseeing production of each issue from concept to completion
- Organising monthly photoshoots
- Interstate travel
The appropriate candidate will have:
- A passion for the bar industry, preferably hospitality industry experience
- A journalism degree or similar
- A knack with the written word
- The ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
- Good time management
- Experience in the publishing industry is a plus
The part-time role will involve:
- Assisting the Editor/Deputy Editor with research and writing one day per week
- Uploading stories to the website
- Research and writing articles for Bartender magazine & 4bars.com.au
- Assisting with preparation for events
The appropriate candidate will have:
- A passion for the bar industry, preferably hospitality industry experience
- A proven track record in writing (university qualification a plus)
