You’ve been banging on about it for years, so in 2013 the Australian Bartender Bar Awards will now include an award for ‘Best Regional Bar’ as well as a handful of state-based awards, giving Australia’s favourite industry awards more folks to raise your glass to. So how will it work? Well, as per usual, the voting opens on March 1, so head to barweek.com.au and follow the links to cast your vote. And this year, three of your favourite categories (Bar of the Year, Cocktail Bar of the Year and Pub of the Year) will all have additional state awards. So, for example, if you live in Victoria you can cast your vote for your favourite local pub, the bar in your state that you think makes the best damn cocktails and of course, your favourite hometown bar. All the state winners will be announced at the Australian Bartender Bar Awards on the 24th September at Doltone House. The Awards will form part of Sydney Bar Week, an action-packed three days of parties and trade events dedicated to the bar industry.
