The Bar Awards is the premiere night of nights for the Australian bar industry. It’s one night in September (Tuesday 20 September to be precise) in which bartenders, operators, owners and the trade come from right around the country to gather in Sydney and celebrate the best of the industry over the last year.

The Bartender Magazine Bartender of the Year sponsored by Bacardi & De Kuyper is the bartending competition that is open to all working bartenders, and known for being a tough test of your ability.
To succeed and come out on top of the competition — like last year’s winner, Lee Potter Cavanagh did — you’ll need to best your peers in terms of knowledge, speed behind the stick, creativity with ingredients, and come up with a showstopping performance in front of a crowd of 500 of the country’s best bar teams, bar operators, and industry professionals.
