Black Pearl alumni opening new Melbourne bar Fancy Free

The Fancy Free team: Chris Hysted-Adams, Rob Libecans, Matt Stirling, Ryan Noreiks.
If you fancy a good drink in Melbourne, you’re in luck as your drinking options are set to expand: there’s a new bar, Fancy Free, opening later this year in the Melbourne CBD.

The bar comes from four bartenders who all met at Black Pearl: Black Pearl bar manager (and former Ketel One ambassador) Chris Hysted-Adams, Rob Libecans (most recently seen working with the Mr Lyan team in the UK and as an ambassador for Bacardi-Martini over there), former Black Pearl manager Matthew Stirling, and Ryan Noreiks, who has run The Lark in Brisbane.

They’re keeping tight-lipped for now on what exactly they’ll be doing, but with their pedigree you can expect some banging drinks for a start.

The quartet have also announced they’ll be forming a hospitality consultancy business named Seven Ounces, which is about as good as hospo consultancy names get.

You will be able to get a taste of what Fancy Free is bringing to the CBD when they kick off a popup tour — check out the dates below.
