Entries now open for the BACARDÍ Legacy Cocktail Competition

The 20th June 2019 sees entries open for another year of the BACARDÍ Legacy Cocktail Competition in Australia.

Now in its seventh year, BACARDÍ Legacy was established to challenge the best contemporary bartenders in the world to create their own cocktail Legacy – that will stand the test of time and ensure that both bartender and BACARDÍ are remembered like the illustrious classic cocktails of the past. Drinks such as the Daiquiri and the Mojito are now revered as classic and are as much part of the unique legacy of Don Facundo Bacardi Masso as the rum itself.

This year’s entrants have an incredible opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Fred Siggins, Alissa Gabriel, Andrew Bennett, Dave Kerr, James Irvine and this year’s Australian Legacy title-holder, Jenna Hemsworth.

With a credible record of reaching the top 16 on the global stage, Australian finalists have proven their skills to the international bartending community. Their incredible performances have gained them not only personal notoriety, but recognition of Australia as a significant contributor in the development of the bartending profession worldwide.

BACARDÍ Australia’s continuous commitment to supporting their competitors each year helps these aspiring bartenders forge their place in the Australian cocktail industry and develop the individuals’ entrepreneurial approach to their career. Keeping Don Facundo’s Legacy of quality, entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation alive.

Not only will the winner of the Australian Grand Final receive an all-expenses paid trip to compete against the world’s most innovative and exceptional bartenders at the Global Final. But they’ll also receive a $5,000 cash prize and the March 2020 cover and spread in Australian Bartender Magazine.

The 2020 Global Finals will be held from 1st – 7th May in Miami, USA – a city with a long-standing association with BACARDÍ rum. During this time the forty finalists will immerse themselves in a week of education and competition, rubbing shoulders with some of the true legends of the bartending world at some of the city’s finest venues and night spots before the 2020 Global Champion is announced at the Grand Final on Wednesday 6th May.
