Work with us. We’re looking for a Drinks Writer so send us your CV now

Yep, that’s right. With the long-serving Editor Sam Bygrave saying farewell, we are looking for someone to join our team in our Sydney office.

With the current state of play in our industry, we are looking for a part-time Drinks Writer. This person will be responsible for writing content for the magazine, sourcing cocktails, interviewing key industry personnel and attending events and photoshoots.

It’s a great opportunity for someone to gain experience working with us on everything from the magazine, to the online presence, social media and of course, our events – Bar Week, the Bar Awards and our Indie Spirits Tastings.

So, what skills do you need? Well, hospitality and drinks experience are key ingredients but you also need to be able to string a sentence or two together and know your way around a computer. We are looking for someone with a keen understanding of what we do and who is well-versed with the content of Australian Bartender magazine, including current cocktail and bar trends. A degree in communications (or similar) will be considered favourably but is not essential.

Just to reiterate, the role will be Sydney-based and part-time with the potential to expand to something more permanent in the future.

Rate will be negotiated based on experience and amount of content supplied.

Please email CV and expression of interest by 1st June to amy@spantonmedia.com
