Bar Beirut (formerly Beirut Bunker Bar) has reopened its doors with a new name, a new look and whole new experience for those looking for something different in the nation’s capital. Building on the bar’s popularity as a late-night cocktail bar, Bar Beirut now offers shared mezze plates influenced by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine in a revamped and cosy setting.

“The bar’s big drawcard is Soumi himself. He learnt his skills in the underground nightclub scene of war-torn Beirut, creating incredible cocktails by experimenting. Soumi’s energetic and generous personality is complimented by a great selection of drinks and authentic Lebanese food.”

Bar owners, Chantelle and Soumi Tannous, are eager for customers to experience the real Beirut. The bar’s big drawcard is Soumi himself. He learnt his skills in the underground nightclub scene of war-torn Beirut, creating incredible cocktails by experimenting. Soumi’s energetic and generous personality is complimented by a great selection of drinks and authentic Lebanese food.

The bar’s drinks menu features an everchanging cocktail line up with a handful of stable signatures including the Wasabi Martini (wasabi-infused vodka, muddled Lebanese cucumber, vanilla gomme), Archie Visits Japan (Archie Rose White Rye Whisky, Junmai Daiginjo Sake, rosewater) and the complex, savoury, and slightly spicy brew and crowd favourite, Beirut Express (Tequila, Green Chartreuse, Lime and Smoked Chilli Salt).
