Sydney Hospitality group Applejack has reopened the iconic Forrester’s pub in Surry Hills following an extensive $1.5 million renovation. There are now three drinking and dining spaces – Phylli’s restaurant, a public bar and an upstairs entertainment and dining space.

After five epic years in De Mestre Place, in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, Burrow Bar owners Bryce McDonough and Chau Tran have announced today that their beloved bar is moving.
We can finally declare the following six individuals, groups and bar teams that will received grants towards their brilliant concepts they put forward to the IDEA LAB only a few short months ago.
Although Champagne would have us all believe that bubble size in these liquids is the defining note on quality, it is in fact the quantity of Co2 escaping from the drink that determines how rough and biting that drink will be and how the aromas will be punching the air.
Now more than ever it is important to be having the conversation about mental health and wellbeing in our industry. The Exchange are excited to announce the launch of The Healthy Bartender Project – where Brand Ambassadors are now able to provide workshops, tools and resources that put staff health and wellness in the spotlight.

I focus on my business the first 3 days of the week and then have to completely switch my sleeping schedule and jump back behind the bar for the second half of the week.”
