Call to Action! – Appleton Estate ‘Tiki Mug’ Competition

Summer 2011/12 will see the fourth incarnation of what has become a highly sought after possession for bartender – the Appleton Estate Rum God Tiki Mug. Darren West, Senior Brand Manager for Brown Forman, is excited to see what Australian bartenders can create. “This competition [is] a wonderful exercise to involve the bartending community in the creation of a product that they already know, love and use,” stated West.

This year’s winner, Pete Long (Hula Bula Bar, Perth) was astounded at his win and his design (pictured here) was manufactured and distributed nationally.

“Over the past three years we’ve continued to push the mug designs,” said West. “This has resulted in a growing cult following, across not only Australian bars, but the global Tiki fraternity.”
