Check out the big names coming for Agave Love

phil-bayly-agave-loveOrganiser Phil Bayly has lined up a huge list of international agave spirit speakers

Here’s some exciting stuff for bartenders, tequila and mezcal lovers, and fans of good drinking generally.

Over two days in March, Sydney will be the scene of the biggest ever agave spirits event to be held in the southern hemisphere when Agave Love kicks off.

On Sunday the 22nd and Monday the 23rd of March, some of the biggest and most knowledgeable names in agave spirits will be conducting tastings, talks and masterclasses — along with some Agave Love-fuelled parties — at six Sydney venues around Oxford street (Casoni, Low302, Hello Sailor, Shady Pines Saloon and The Winery) and at Mr Moustache in Bondi.

Organiser Phil Bayly — he of Cafe Pacifico and tequila legend fame — has lined up a number of international speakers to present, such as Tomas Estes (Tequila Ambassador to Europe), Julio Bermejo (Tequila Ambassador to USA), David Suro (Tequila Interchange Project), Dr. Ivan Saldaña (Author of The Anatomy of Mezcal), Marco Ochoa (La Mezcaloteca-Oaxaca), Esteban Morales (400 Coñejos-Guadalajara), and Phil Ward (Mayahuel NYC), in addition to a number of local presenters.

It’s a congregation of knowledgeable and passionate agave spirit professionals the size of which is rarely seen outside of Mexico, so mark your diaries, book your hotels and flights, and keep an eye on the Facebook page for more details.
